Next up in the series is our way-too early 2027 fantasy mock draft. With this, I hope to start putting together a list of names for managers to consider joining their NFL teams with the 2027 NFL draft in two years. For such a hyped class, I will do even better than the 3 round mock from 2026. This article will have a 4 round mock with a breakdown for each round. AND KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR ANOTHER MOCK OF THE 2028 CLASS as well!
Alright, let’s dive into this 2027 class with the first round up here for a theoretical 12 man league.
Thankfully no one went and complained in the 2026 mock for leaving out Arch Manning. The intention has been very clear of him getting two years of starting experience in college before heading to the pros so I expect him to develop and follow through with that idea. Jeremiah Smith, DJ Lagway, and Ryan Williams round out the top four with very clear production in year 1. There is a chance pending good health that we could see Lagway considered a top 3-5 QB after this season. He has the tools and personnel if he can build on the unexpected starting time as a true freshman handling injury and short-staffed depth in 2024.
1.05 reveals my personal devy RB1 in Caden Durham. As a true freshman to crack 1,000 scrimmage yards in the SEC as a dynamic option should already have him on the map for big things in year 2 to be the 2027 front runner. He also brings amazing breakaway athleticism and acts as a threat in the receiving department too. Bryant Wesco at 1.06 is also probably a shock for the Cam Coleman fans. Wesco is the most dynamic Clemson WR who kept pace last season in his first year with Antonio Williams and TJ Moore. That is while also playing two less games than his counterparts which is always conveniently left out. Dynasty leagues have few running backs of note so that pushes up my 1.07 pick of Nate Frazier. If he gets past the fumbling issues, Frazier could have a lionshare of the work in 2025 for Georgia as they break in Gunner Stockton. The WR trio of TJ Moore, Cam Coleman, and Ryan Wingo round out the next few picks as it is pick your type and roll. The order shows how close I have them with the edge given to the versatility of Wingo over Coleman. 1.11 offers our final round 1 RB in James Peoples who I believe is the 1A for Ohio State the next two years. My process liked him and he has been the talk as the guy to trust over Donaldson or the freshmen as of this spring. We keep it at Ohio State again as 1.12 for QB Julian Sayin. He beat my initial threshold for HS QB recruit scores and seems to have a lead on the job this year. Spending two years with Jeremiah Smith and the talent around him should let us see just what he can do as people also helmet scout too.
The second round makes me just as excited with our current options. I let the slide stop for Raiola at 2.01. While I am skeptical of what he can offer as a limited pocket passer, Rhule has experience helping his offense improve over time. If Raiola cleans up his mistakes in year 2, he could garner some buzz for NFL teams in 2027. He stays here though as I can not trust his current level of athleticism until he shows otherwise. Nick Marsh checks in at 2.02 with a potential claim for higher if Chiles did not have a poor year 1 as the starter. Right beside him are two more receivers of this class who flashed in year 1 with Drelon Miller and Emmett Mosley. Miller was asked to be at the Colorado pro day with reports of him doing well according to scouts even though the event included Travis Hunter, Will Sheppard, Jimmy Horn Jr, and LaJohntay Wester. I like the idea of his role growing in year 2 with the veteran departures. Mosley did well for being at Stanford’s 2024 chaos of an offense and now can show us more with Arch and company at Texas. CJ Bailey at 2.05 is a sneaky “my guy” approach here that I can just point to my Wildcard article I did on him for a better breakdown if you want to see it.
Right behind him is the rebirth of Dante Moore in media circles. Moore has some work to do but could benefit from a few years of playing in the Oregon scheme and its talent. 2.07 offers a potential Devon Achane level player with Isaac Brown. He was fantastic as the ACC freshman of the year and should continue to see him develop. 2.08-2.12 offers us a variety of guys who can build on their potential and a rebound project in Jackson Arnold. Simmons must show what he can do for Auburn with Eric Singleton and Cam Coleman on roster. Hardy must show he can be more at a higher level of competition. Trey’Dez Green flashed as a freshman TE with the all-around athlete skills and must become consistent in that flooded room of WRs at LSU. Parker in a similar manner is moving up in talent to Utah and keep building his reputation beside another dual threat QB. Jackson Arnold in this range is here to prove the lack of talent, no dedicated QB positional coach, and OL injuries were more of a reason to be down than his own shortcomings. With what Auburn can offer, he should put up the stats with a record of being a solid athlete on the ground already. He will show us in 2025 if he belongs higher or needs to be taken off boards entirely.
The third round even offers some intrigue for us. Simmons will have two years of starting experience at this point while still being on the younger side so teams could want to pursue the playmaker that Ole Miss historically puts out. Lyle has added some weight and maintained his lightning in a bottle play style which should pair with Fletcher nicely before he gets the workload in 2026. Reynolds is my second TE bet for the class based on what Penn State does at the position and the training they do for his strength and conditioning. Bentancur is a similar play as he was dominant in high school but faces an uphill climb for volume with the receivers mentioned earlier at Clemson. CJ Baxter is back practicing as of recent reports but historically year 1 off injury is slow. I expect Baxter to run it back with Texas for championship and NIL reasons so he could be a name for the 2027 class. If he returns to what people believe he is, Baxter will be much higher than 3.04. Chase Sowell is another transfer name who moved to Iowa State with Xavier Townsend to fill the roles left empty by Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. Sowell was productive so the issue is simply can he do it against better guys.
Everything I said about CJ Baxter at 3.04 is true for Rueben Owens at 3.07. Both were touted well out of high school in my work and just need to stay healthy. Yannick Smith has fans in the CFF and C2C league circles, but he may offer legit NFL upside too. Keep an eye out for a year 2 bump and then a portal move up to show himself next year with pro ambitions. Demond Williams fans believe they see another Kyler Murray in the making. I am not there yet and remember the out-of-control hype for Aidan Chiles last offseason so for now I exercise caution in his first full starting season. Additionally the run support is big for fantasy but size concerns will worry some teams if he is not lights out. Aneyas Williams and Bryson Donelson both carry high marks for me out of their high school production profiles with solid year 1 production in their systems. I want Donelson to become a big focal point for his offense in year 2 so his value climbs while Aneyas looks to secure a bigger role behind Jeremiyah Love with a non-running threat at QB for passing work increases.
My last round here includes guys who have flashed, came into college with high expectations, and dudes who really need to turn it on moving forward for NFL dreams to occur.
Russell, Baugh, Tatum, and Bothwell were all involved in year 1 to varying degrees. The question is what can any of them do in year 2. Their results will go a long ways on comparing this current spot with the rest for moving up. JoJo Trader played the full season and finally flashed some in the bowl game. Now with just him and Elija Lofton returning, both guys seek to prove themselves as focal points with Beck and Miami. Micah Hudson was going round 1 of C2C leagues and some devy leagues; his biggest concern right now is how he looks off injury and the off-field troubling concerns.
Marshall was a similar story to Trader except he gets to handle Justice Haynes in year 2. Bishop started to show up in year 2 behind Sampson and now must be the guy against Star Thomas and Peyton Lewis at Tennessee. Speaking of Tennessee, ex-golden boy Nico Iamaleava has a lot of work to do for teams to look past how this offseason went for him. Raising UCLA back up in 2025 can be a good initial test. Mylan Graham and Quinton Martin round out the mock both trying to get on the field as better names block the path to playing time.
